This week my History 297 class is doing 4-minute presentations about our working literature reviews. Presentations typically make me nervous, no matter what. I do try to prepare myself for presentations when they are due, but I can still feel nervous the day of. Some of the ways that I try to prepare for presentations is by practicing out loud when I am alone, so I can get possible mistakes or timing issues sorted out.
The people who presented on the first day of the 4-minute presentations were all very good. The students all spoke clearly and commanded the attention of the room. Seeing those presentations helps me to visualize what I myself should attempt to do when presenting. (Such as standing straight, having confidence in the voice, etc.)
